{the carnivore diaries} A List of Steaks I Have Loved
You might have noticed by now that I love meat. Steak, especially! I also have an incredibly detailed memory for all of the food I have ever eaten in my life. So if you are wondering about my very favorite steaks, look no further. Here is a handy list of some of the best steaks and related steak-like items I have found in my time and travels thus far.
I was a bit surprised when I started to codify this information, because it shows that I’ve been around the world and I-yi-yi, I can’t find no steak-y. Almost 100% of my favorite steaks are right here in the U.S. of A! I’m glad we still kick a$$ at something. USA! USA!
Oh and after you read this list, PLEASE tell me your favorite steaks so I can try them before I die.

Solocicca was by far our favorite dining experience. We sat at the kitchen table with a Roman man who’s extent of English was “I like wine!”.
Excellent list.
Thanks for the comment! Yes, Solociccia was a great experience. My friend and fellow meat-lover is in Italy right now and I INSISTED he change his whole itinerary to hit Panzano. Needless to say he stayed extra so he could try all three Dario Cecchini spots!
Heads up you missed the best Steak house in San Fran. I am a 13th generation California, now have a ranch in Texas. But by far the best steak house in S.F., it is Harris on Pacific and Van Ness. Try it, it is great!
Happy Eating!
@Rusty good call. Harris Steakhouse is an old favorite! Thanks for the reminder.
The best steak I’ve ever had was at the Great American Land & Cattle Company in El Paso, TX! The absolute BEST!
I’ll have to try these places one day! I’ve been on the search for the best steak for a while and this gives me some new ideas.
